About the ROT13 Encoder / Decoder

ROT13 rotates every letter thirteen places through the alphabet — A becomes N, N becomes A. Because thirteen is half of twenty-six, the same operation encodes and decodes, which made it the spoiler-hiding standard of early internet forums and puzzle communities.

It is obfuscation, not encryption: anyone can reverse it at a glance with the right tool. Use it to keep answers, punchlines and plot twists out of casual view, never to protect secrets.

How to use it

  1. 1Type or paste any text.
  2. 2The ROT13 result appears live — apply it again to decode.
  3. 3Copy the output or download it as a .txt file.
