About the Morse Code Translator
Morse code is easier to learn by ear than by eye. This translator converts your text to standard ITU dots and dashes, decodes Morse back to letters, and — the part most tools skip — plays the code aloud as a clean 600 Hz sine tone at either 12 or 20 words per minute.
Timing follows the international standard: a dit is one unit, a dah three, gaps inside a letter one unit, between letters three, and between words seven. Start at 12 wpm and work up as your ear improves.
How to use it
- 1Type plain text to see it as Morse code, or paste dots and dashes to decode.
- 2Pick a speed — 12 wpm for learning, 20 wpm for practice.
- 3Press Play to hear the code; press Stop to cut it off.
