About the Random IP Address Generator

Test fixtures, log samples, firewall whitelists and network tutorials all need IP addresses that look real but belong to nobody. This generator draws every octet and every hex group from your browser’s cryptographic RNG, so the addresses are unpredictable and unbiased — and because nothing leaves your machine, they are safe to drop into any internal document.

Switch between classic dotted-quad IPv4 (four groups of 0-255) and IPv6 rendered in proper compressed notation: lowercase hex, no leading zeros, and the longest run of zero groups collapsed to “::”, exactly as RFC 5952 prescribes. Need a whole subnet’s worth of samples? Batch 10 fills a session list you can copy line by line or all at once.

How to use it

  1. 1Pick IPv4 or IPv6 with the toggle.
  2. 2Click Generate for a single address, or Batch 10 for a list.
  3. 3Copy the highlighted address, any list entry, or everything at once.
