About the Line Number Adder

Turning a plain list into numbered steps should not take twenty manual edits. Paste your lines, pick where the count starts and how the number is separated — "1. step", "1) step", "1: step" or "1 - step" — and the whole list renumbers itself live.

Handy for instructions and recipes, meeting agendas, lyric sheets, legal clauses and anywhere a reader needs to reference "line 42" precisely.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste the lines you want numbered.
  2. 2Set the starting number (1 by default — try 0 for programmers).
  3. 3Choose a separator style, then copy the numbered list.
